FAQs
Q1. What is a velcro reflective armband / ankle band?
It is a reflective safety band made with Velcro hook-and-loop material as the base. Unlike an elastic band, it fastens by pressing the hook and loop surfaces together, so the fit can be adjusted freely without compression. A silver reflective strip is bonded to the flat Velcro surface using heat transfer.
Q2. How is it different from the elastic reflective band?
The Velcro version is non-elastic and fully adjustable, while the elastic version relies on stretch to fit the wearer. Velcro bands are easier to adjust to different arm or ankle circumferences and are often more comfortable for users who do not like tight-fitting accessories.
Q3. Why is heat transfer used instead of sewing?
Velcro has thickness and surface texture, which makes sewing a reflective strip onto it more difficult and more likely to create quality issues such as skipped stitches or an uneven finish. The relatively flat Velcro surface is well suited for heat-transfer reflective film. Typical heat-transfer parameters are 150-180°C, 3-5 bar, and 10-15 seconds, depending on material and equipment.
Q4. What are the advantages of Velcro closure?
Velcro closure allows fast adjustment, easy single-handed use, and a stable fit on different wrist, arm, ankle, or calf sizes. It is especially useful for users who want a reflective band that does not rely on elastic pressure.
Q5. Can we add a logo?
Yes. For best durability, we recommend screen printing the logo on the silver reflective HTV surface. Direct printing on the Velcro surface is not recommended because ink may peel after washing. Woven labels or wash-care labels sewn onto the band are also clean and practical branding options.
Q6. How should Velcro reflective bands be washed?
Fasten the Velcro tabs before washing to prevent snagging other fabrics. Hand washing or gentle machine washing at 30°C is recommended. Avoid high-temperature drying to help protect the adhesion of the reflective HTV film.
